Privacy

The short version
Intervooh is local-first: your work lives in your browser on your device. When you create an account, it also syncs, encrypted in transit and at rest, to your own private area of our database so it follows you across devices. Only you can read your records. When you use the AI features, the relevant text is sent to Google's Gemini models, from our server, purely to generate your coaching, and it is never used to train AI models. You can export everything, and you can delete your data or your entire account yourself, at any time.
Who we are
Intervooh ("we") is the data controller for intervooh.com. Contact for anything in this policy, including privacy requests: hello@intervooh.com.
What we hold, and why
- Your account: email address, optional display name, and your plan (free or paid). Lawful basis: contract, we need it to run your account.
- Your prep: interviews you set up, programmes, practice history, stories, notes, coach conversations, mock reports and research briefs. Stored in your browser and, when signed in, in a private database row only your account can read (enforced with row-level security). Lawful basis: contract.
- Your CV: if you add it, the extracted text is stored with your prep, and the original file is kept in a private storage area only you can access, so you can reference it. Lawful basis: contract, you add it so the coaching can use it.
- AI usage counters: how many AI requests and tokens your account used per day, so fair-use limits work. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in preventing abuse.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we store only your Stripe customer reference and plan status. Stripe is its own controller for payment data.
The AI, and exactly what it sees
When you use the coach, company research, your welcome note, scored mocks, or server transcription, we send the relevant material, your role and company details, the job advert if you saved one, your CV text if you added it, the conversation so far, and your first name so the coach can greet you, to Google's Gemini API, from our server, for that request only. Under Google's paid API terms this data is not used to train Google's models. Google processes it on its infrastructure, which may be outside the UK; that transfer is covered by our agreement with Google incorporating the UK Addendum to the standard contractual clauses. The API key lives on our server and never in your browser.
Your voice
Spoken practice is transcribed by your browser's built-in speech service where your browser has one (audio goes to your browser vendor under their terms; we never receive it). Where your browser has no speech service, or when you speak to the coach, your recording is sent through our server to Google's Gemini only to produce the transcript, and the audio is not stored by us afterwards. Transcripts become part of your prep like anything you type.
Sub-processors
- Supabase: database, authentication and file storage for your account.
- Google (Gemini API): AI generation and speech transcription, as above.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Stripe: payments, when you buy a plan.
How long we keep things
Your prep stays until you delete it, it is yours to keep between job hunts. AI usage counters are kept for billing-fairness records. If you delete your account, everything, including your CV file, is deleted immediately and permanently.
Your rights and your controls
- Export: Profile → "Export everything" downloads your data as a file.
- Delete data: Profile → "Delete all data" wipes your prep from the device and your account.
- Delete account: Profile → "Delete your account" permanently removes your account, CV file and all synced data.
- You also have the usual UK GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection). Email us and we'll act on them; you can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
What we don't do
- No advertising trackers or pixels, and no selling or sharing of personal data.
- No training AI models on your data, ours or anyone else's.
- No emotion or personality inference: we measure only behavioural mechanics such as pace and filler words.
- No reading your CV or conversations except as needed to run the service or with your permission to fix a problem you've reported.
